Description
$12,990. Drifter 17 Trimaran designed/built by Mark Gumprecht. Moved with him to Colorado and placed in storage. Sold to a collector of trimarans, then to me. Cut and paste the following two links to read more. https://smalltrimaran.co.uk/building-the-drifter-17-trimaran-interview-with-mark-gumprecht/ https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/multihull-structure-thoughts.62361/page-60 I enjoy sailing Gypsy Wind (not my choice of names but kept it to maintain the legacy) and don’t want to sell, but the boat has outgrown me. There is no other boat of this size and design in the world. This is it – the only one. Everything is in good working order. 50% of the boat has fresh paint and non-skid. Points well to windward, especially with the jib. Perfect for someone with an adventure streak in their blood with the potential to get from point A to B in short order – this boat covers ground in a good breeze and also moves smartly in the slightest breeze. Sail to your protected anchorage, cove, inlet, mooring, or dock; prepare your meals; eat under the cockpit sunshade or at the removable interior eating surface; clean up in the sink; then spend a restful night in the generous sleeping berth. Plenty of storage for personal items in the cabin and lockers for sailing gear, food, water, etc. Overall dimensions - 17’L x 14’W approximate. Rotating wing mast – 21ft. app. Lightweight Vectran shrouds. Self-furling Jib and Genoa. Retractable kick-up centerboard. Kick-up rudder. 200 watts of solar to charge the 100ah lithium phosphate battery for mindfully powering equipment. High-quality Epoxy/Fiberglass/Wood composite construction. Beautiful, naturally finished interior. Less than 1000lbs total weight with aluminum trailer; boat app. 600Lbs. Pulls easily behind small car. I have pulled it with both a Nissan Leaf and Chevy Bolt with no effort. 2” ball. This semi-performance cruising/camping boat is not designed/equipped to be left unattended on a mooring or at a marina/dock long term. Plan on taking two hours for setup with one person – nothing difficult, it just takes time and care. I usually stayed out for more than two days, making the set-up and tear-down a non-issue.
